TROUTDALE – Two men broke into a home in Troutdale and assaulted the homeowner at knifepoint Saturday morning, police said.

The victim identified 32-year-old Michael Bidema (pictured) as one of the men who broke through his front door, assaulted him with a knife, stole his laptop and broke his nose, said Sgt. Steve Bevens with Troutdale Police.

The assailants broke into the victim’s house at 1647 Southwest 22nd Street around 5:30 a.m., Bevens said.

Officers later found Bidema playing video poker at a restaurant in Gresham and arrested him.

Police are still looking for the second suspect. Bidema was taken to jail and charged with robbery, assault and menacing.
