ALOHA, Ore. -- Two people were killed when a motorcycle struck a pickup truck on an Aloha road Friday night, police said.

Deputies responded just after 11:30 to the report of a crash involving a pickup and a motorcycle along SW 175th Avenue on Cooper Mountain, according to Sgt. Vance Stimler of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators learned that the motorcycle driver, 31-year-old Keith Lawson of Aloha, was attempting to pass two vehicles in a no-passing zone when he crashed into the oncoming truck, Stimler said.

Lawson and the 24-year-old woman riding with him were both thrown from the motorcycle and fatally injured.

The occupants of the pickup were taken to OHSU with non life-threatening injuries.
