PORTLAND - Two students suffered minor injuries when a Molalla River School District bus was hit by a truck Tuesday, said Clackamas County Deputy Marcus Mendoza.

The bus was eastbound on Gibson Road and had halted for a stop sign. The truck was northbound Kropf Road, Mendoza said. The truck driver said the bus pulled out in front of him and he didn't have time to stop.

The bus driver was cited for failing to obey a traffic signal device. Though stopped, the driver proceeded into an unsafe situation, Mendoza said. The truck driver had the right-of-way, he added.

The collision knocked the bus on its side and jack-knifed the truck.

The truck struck the bus on the same side the two students were sitting. Neither driver was hurt.
