PORTLAND -- Two people have been arrested in connection with a November fire at the historic Pal's Shanty restaurant in Northeast Portland.

One of the suspects was an employee and suffered burns, said Lt. Rich Chatman of the Portland Fire & Rescue Bureau.

Arrested were Marcus A. Tyler and Michael Duncan. Tyler was accused of first-degree criminal mischief ,  second-degree burglary and second-degree arson. Duncan was accused of first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree arson.

Trial is scheduled for Feb. 4.

Investigators believe the fire was set to cover up a burglary. One of the suspects was burned in the fire, he said.
