DALLAS, Ore. (AP) — A former city manager in the Oregon community of Dallas has pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree theft, one count of official misconduct and one count of falsifying business records.
Polk County District Attorney Aaron Felton says Jerry Wyatt's plea agreement calls for a two-year prison sentence and full restitution.
Felton said Wyatt will repay nearly $12,000, the amount sought by the city of Dallas. The Statesman Journal says the state Justice Department earlier reported that Wyatt had stolen about $14,000, charging personal items for himself and his family on a city credit card.
He became city manager in 2007 and stepped down last July.
Wyatt offered a letter of apology at his sentencing Wednesday in Circuit Court.
Dallas is west of Salem.
