MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Eight men caught at an Eagle Point cockfight in June are being sentenced to probation under a plea agreement.

The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/YEfAmM) seven have pleaded guilty and the eighth is to plead guilty next month in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Assistant District Attorney David Hoppe says he agree to the deal because the men remained at the scene instead of running with about 30 others when police arrived.

As part of the plea, the men agree not to possess any fowl.
