BURNS, Ore. (AP) — A utility official says about 2,500 homes and businesses in the Burns, Ore., area lost power temporarily Wednesday night due to a transformer problem at a substation.

KTVZ-TV says (http://is.gd/izBfxr ) the Oregon Trail Electric Consumers Cooperative reported that a problem with an Idaho Power transformer knocked the Hines substation off-line shortly before 7:30 p.m. Temperatures were in the single digits.
