GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — A man identified on an anti-crime Facebook page in Southern Oregon is in jail facing a federal gun charge.
Carol Dickson, a retired sheriff's deputy who runs the "To Catch a Thief" page, let out a whoop for joy Tuesday on hearing the news.
Lief Devin Carrier of Cave Junction faces a charge of being a felon in possession of a gun.
An affidavit filed by an anti-drug task force says investigators noticed a posting on the "To Catch a Thief" Facebook page mentioned Carrier's house was a "chop shop," where stolen cars were cut up for parts, and that Carrier was armed.
Police arranged for an undercover informant to go there to buy marijuana. When police moved in for the arrest, they found a semi-automatic rifle in the shop.
