NORTH BEND, Ore. (AP) — Fire has destroyed an old, abandoned hangar at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend.
Firefighters responded just after midnight Monday. The building was engulfed in flames and collapsed about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
KVAL reports (http://is.gd/1mgu7A ) embers flew across the airport in high winds, but firefighters prevented the fire from spreading.
No injuries reported.
The World reports ( http://is.gd/Arn20D ) the wooden hangar was built by the Navy during World War II and was no longer in use.
It's unclear how the fire started, but police said winds had knocked down power lines in the area.
