COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) — The Coast Guard reports it has recovered a man's body near the Coos Bay jetty on the southern Oregon coast.
The World newspaper says (http://is.gd/xEulYt ) the Coast Guard retrieved the body Wednesday afternoon at the request of the Coos County sheriff's office.
Petty Officer Shawn Eggert says the man was in his mid-60s and was not wearing a life vest.
No debris or overturned boat was found to indicate that the man had been involved in a boating accident.
The body was taken to the Coos County medical examiner's office.
