BEND, Ore. (AP) — A former charter school leader in Central Oregon facing sentencing for sexually abusing a student also faces new charges of theft and fleeing a traffic stop.
The Bend Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/SdVc63) that 39-year-old Michael Bremont was accused Tuesday of taking computers and equipment intended for the Redmond Proficiency Academy.
As part of a plea agreement, he is expected to be sentenced Friday to 19 months in prison for abusing a 15-year-old academy student beginning in 2009.
He has also been sentenced in Linn County to 30 days in jail for sexually abusing a student when he was a principal in Halsey
State Police accused Bremont of speeding away at 103 mph from a trooper who tried to pull him over Oct. 26 on U.S. 97 north of Redmond.
