PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Federal authorities say a California man has been accused of burning a convenience store he owned and operated in Salem four years ago.

The U.S. attorney's office in Oregon identified him Monday as 31-year-old Birkamal Singh of San Jose and said he was arrested last week on an indictment charging arson. A hearing is scheduled Wednesday on the government's request to return him to Oregon for trial.

Authorities said one person was hurt in the fire, and federal, state and local agencies have been working on the case four years.
