BEND, Ore. (AP) — The road to a well-known Central Oregon destination, Tumalo Falls, is reopening Saturday.
The Bend Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/S1gLF6) the road was closed to accommodate a city water pipeline project, but that work has been halted by a federal judge's injunction.
The falls west of Bend drops nearly 90 feet.
The U.S. Forest Service said the Tumalo Falls trailhead also will be reopened. Opening the road will allow access to a day use area and other trails.
The agency said contractors will be moving heavy equipment in the area Friday, and it asked that members of the public wait until the road is open Saturday.
