CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Corvallis police arrested a Portland man accused of attempting to have non-consensual sex with a woman as she slept.

The Gazette-Times newspaper (http://is.gd/ahSrXS ) reports that 33-year-old Peter Humberd was arraigned Monday and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

The woman told police she and a male friend fell asleep in a room at the Rodeway Inn early Saturday. She was fully clothed, and she and her friend were the only people in the room.

The woman said she awoke to find a man she didn't know on top of her saying, "Shhh, baby, it's fine."

Her jeans were unbuttoned and pulled down to just above her knees.

The woman's friend told police he realized the action did not appear consensual, and he began yelling at Humberd.
