COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) — A 32-year-old man convicted of kidnapping two Coos Bay girls was sentenced Monday in Coquille to a mandatory 13 years in prison.
With the added sentence for unrelated burglary convictions Robert Perez faces a total of more than 17 years in prison.
The World reports (http://is.gd/42olwu ) Perez was convicted last month of kidnapping, coercion and furnishing liquor to a minor.
Police say he drove two girls — 12 and 13 — around town in July, giving them alcohol and marijuana and stopping at a park in North Bend where they were rescued.
One of the girls was a neighbor and her mother had given permission for the girls to go on an errand with Perez, but he didn't bring them back.
