EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a 21-year-old man who climbed a wire fence along a Eugene-area freeway overpass, then dropped 25 to 30 feet onto southbound Interstate 5 is expected to survive.
The man was taken Wednesday afternoon to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that police described as serious.
The Register-Guard reports the man was not struck by any vehicles.
State police say the incident affected traffic in the area for about a half hour.
The man's name was not released.
