Crews battle tough terrain at Oregon wildfires

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Firefighters faced difficult and remote terrain in their battle to contain several wildfires burning in Oregon.

Crews reported that a fire burning on the Warm Springs reservation was 7 percent contained on Thursday after charring 13 square miles. In the northeastern corner of Oregon, officials were sending more resources to a blaze that's burned about 20 square miles of Oregon and Washington against the border with Idaho. It was 0 percent contained.

On the southern border, firefighters have made good progress battling a large blaze that's burned 700 square miles in Oregon and Nevada. The fire was 97 percent contained.
