GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — A Grants Pass, Ore., police officer heard a commotion in her driveway and went outside to find a man trying to steal her pickup truck, which was parked next to her patrol car.
The Grants Pass Daily Courier (http://bit.ly/Nk5IWr ) reports that Officer Lesley Donaghy yelled at the man and chased him down when he tried to run away Tuesday, holding him at gunpoint until some fellow officers arrived.
Joshua M. Schirle was cited for vehicle theft and attempted vehicle theft and released due to lack of space in the jail.
