Recognize these long-legged beer bottles? They’re “Grazing Rainiers” munching on grass at the base of the Space Needle.
The mythical creatures – said to be created by combining Sasquatch DNA with soil from Mount Rainier - are helping promote a new "Restore the R" campaign launched by Rainier Beer owner Pabst Brewing to restore the beer’s iconic “R” sign.
The famous local beer is asking fans to participate in the restoration process by visiting RestoreTheR.com and completing a physical challenge on the website. For each challenge completed, one of the 250 light bulbs on the Rainier R sign will be lit up.
Once all the challenges and completed and all 250 light bulbs are lit, a group of fans will be invited to attend a special lighting ceremony of the R sign at the newly restored Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI), scheduled to open December 29.
Rainier Beer fans can learn more about the contest at RestoringtheR.com.
