LAKEVIEW, Ore. (AP) — Sheriff's officers in southern Oregon say a woman whose body was found in a utility trailer on national forest land is a homicide victim.
Lake County Sheriff Phil McDonald said Monday in a statement that an autopsy has identified a body found July 11 in the trailer as 47-year-old Valerie Annette Watts of Lakeview. Her daughter reported her missing on June 25. The cause of death was not released.
The trailer was located in a remote area about 25 miles northwest of Lakeview.
The sheriff says the woman's 55-year-old husband was arrested July 9 on an unrelated probation violation.
The sheriff's office is asking for help from anyone who might have information about the case.
