1 person injured, car catches fire in Beaverton crash, police say

BEAVERTON, Ore. – One person was injured in a crash in Beaverton Thursday night.

The crash occurred at around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest Murray Boulevard and Allen Boulevard. The driver for unknown reasons crashed into a traffic light pole, according to Beaverton police spokesman Mike Rowe.

The car initially caught fire, Rowe said, but was extinguished.

The driver was extricated and taken to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Rowe said.

The crash occurred in the area where a driver hit two people in front of a McMenamin's restaurant in April.
