BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Officers investigating a domestic disturbance shot and wounded an armed man in Beaverton Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police were called just after 1:30 p.m. to a disturbance in the 15000 block of Southwest Bridle Hills Drive, according to officer Mike Rowe with the Beaverton Police Department.

A 28-year-old man armed with a weapon confronted responding officers and was shot, Rowe said.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. No one else was hurt.

The names of the officers involved have not yet been released.
