WOODBURN -- A 15-year-old reportedly led police on a chase early Monday morning from Woodburn to Wilsonville.

The incident began about 3:20 a.m. with a call about a hit-and-run near Front and Young streets in Woodburn, said Capt. Jason Alexander of the Woodburn police.

The driver fled the scene, racing up Interstate 5 before taking the Wilsonville exit. The SUV crashed near Stafford Road and Blackberry Lane after two of its tires failed in Wilsonvile. He continued on the rims and a Woodburn cruiser eventually pinned the car.

Police went up to the SUV and pepper-sprayed the driver, who managed to flee on foot. He was arrested with the help of a K-9 unit, Alexander said.

The suspect was treated for a dog bite wound and was expected to be taken to a juvenile facility in Marion County.
