MEDFORD -- A Southern Oregon community came together over the weekend to help revitalize the search for missing Portland boy Kyron Horman.

Wednesday will mark four years since he disappeared from Portland’s Skyline Elementary School.

Dozens of family members, friends, and supporters gathered to host a Car Wash for Kyron in Medford Sunday. For the past month, they have been raising money to support a large scale search near Portland later this month.

Kyron's mom, Desiree Young, said it’s about time the search effort got a boost.

“I'm really hoping to get this search going, that will make me feel a little bit better,” Young said Sunday. “I'm a little disappointed at where our case is at now, but I'm not the type to just sit by and wait, so I'm going to make it happen.”

Young said she could not yet disclose the location of the search, scheduled for June 21.

The Medford car wash follows one last month in Portland and another in Roseburg.
