PORTLAND – Sunday marked the 10th birthday of missing Portland boy Kyron Horman, and his family spent the day raising awareness that the search for him is still active.

Kyron Horman was 7 years old when he disappeared from Skyline Elementary in June 2010.

His father, Kaine Horman, and other family members marked the boy’s birthday at ‘Cause Day’ in Sublimity, Oregon.

The family is hoping to broaden awareness outside the Portland area. They set up a booth, passing out T-shirts and buttons with Kyron's most recent age-progression photo (pictured, right).

“Lots of people want to help and they just don’t know how,” Kaine Horman said Sunday. “This is a way: They can take something with them; even if it just has his name on it, it’s enough to connect and start a discussion.”

He said the investigation remains very active.

The boy’s mother has filed a civil lawsuit against his stepmother, Terri Horman, who was the last person known to have seen him.
