PORTLAND, Ore. -- The medical examiner is trying to figure out how an infant died at a day care in John's Landing.
Investigators say at this point they do not suspect foul play at L'espoir Preschool of the Arts, which shares its building with a Korean church.
While police would not confirm the name of the day care, they did confirm the address where the nearly five-month-old baby died on Monday.
The daycare's website describes it as a French-speaking preschool. On the State of Oregon's Office of Childcare website, we found a complaint from December of 2016.
The complaint alleges "illegal care" where two separate providers were operating out of the same classroom, which violated state child care facility rules that govern licensing.
The write-up says the situation was fixed.
The Oregonian reports in March of this year L'espoir was cited twice for providing illegal childcare. The infant's death this week marks the second time since October where a baby has died in a childcare setting in Portland.
KGW has reached out to L'espoir, but have not yet heard back.
