Molalla man dies, two others seriously injured in head-on crash on Highway 211

EAGLE CREEK, Ore. -- A head-on collision on Highway 211 killed one person and seriously injured two others Saturday evening.

The driver of one of the vehicles, 57-year-old Robert Lowe, of Molalla, was driving south on SR 211 at about 7:51 p.m. and crossed the center-line, crashing head on into a car driving northbound. Lowe died in the crash.

The driver of the other car, 32-year-old Amanda Hartman, of Eugene, was flown by helicopter to OHSU with critical injuries. The passenger, 39-year-old Matthew Welch, was taken to OHSU by ambulance with serious injuries.

Investigators have not released a cause of the crash, but a Clackamas Fire District spokesperson notes that the highway has a "bad curve" at that location.
