SHERWOOD, Ore. – A boil water advisory has been issued for part of Sherwood after a water main break.
The break occurred off Southwest Willow Court and affects about 800 customers and leaves 22 homes without water service.
The city doesn’t believe the drinking water was contaminated but Oregon law requires drinking water providers issue precautionary boil water advisories to customers affected by pressure losses in water mains.
Water samples will be collected after repairs are made. Results are expected early Friday, Oct. 28.
The city recommends affected customers boil all tap water intended for drinking, food preparation, washing of utensils, and first aid. Bottled water can be used as an alternative to tap water.
