PORTLAND, Ore. -- News of the mass shooting in Las Vegas spread quickly.
These days with so many young people immersed in social media they got the news sometimes before their parents.
Robin Henderson, a clinical psychologist with the Providence Medical Group says it’s crucial to talk with children about something like what happened in Las Vegas.
“Make sure you help them understand that the people they love are ok, make sure you’re addressing their anxieties,” Henderson said. She also for parents sometimes it’s a good idea to take a break from all the different opinions maybe even turn off the phone to center and deal with the people around them who are effected.
