Lockdown lifted at Roosevelt High School after reported threat

Lockdown lifted at Roosevelt HS

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A lockout has been lifted at Roosevelt High School after two students reported a threat on Thursday morning.

Two students told school administrators that another student was threatening to do harm at the school, according to Portland Public Schools. School officials called police, who arrived at about 9 a.m. to investigate the threat.

The school was placed on lockdown and officers searched the school. According to the PPS Connect alert, officers determined there was no threat at the school and the lockdown was lifted.

Officers made contact with a person of interest in the case, police said, and after a conversation with that person police learned information that led them to believe the person did not pose an immediate threat to students or staff.
