Suspected serial flasher arrested in Gresham

Suspected serial flasher caught

GRESHAM, Ore. – A Gresham sex offender believed to be the serial flasher responsible for a string of indecent exposure incidents in Clackamas County was arrested Wednesday night, police said.

Michael Gordon Dick, 53, was arrested after authorities received reports of a naked man walking around and masturbating in the Tickle Creek and Kelso Road areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Sgt. Nathan Thompson with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Dick, who is a registered sex offender, matched the description of a suspect accused of at least 12 exposure incidents dating back to November, 2014.

In the previous flashing incidents, victims told police a man drove by women who were walking on the street or working in their yards, got out of his pickup truck naked and began masturbating.

Investigators said the suspect may have been wearing a wig.

Most of the incidents were reported in Boring and Eagle Creek.

Investigators served search a warrant at Dick's home and found evidence that led them to believe he was the suspect in the earlier flashings. Dick's pickup truck was similar to the suspect vehicle, which was photographed by witnesses and released by police.

Dick is currently charged with three counts of public indecency, including one related to an incident last week.

Because Dick is a sex offender, the recent indecency charges will be felonies. In 2008, Dick entered an elderly woman's Multnomah County home and attempted to assault her while he was nude, Thompson said.
