Clackamas County murder suspect arrested in Oklahoma

Homicide Investigation in Clackamas County

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Dean Boettcher, a suspect in the murder of a 50-year-old man in Clackamas County last week, was arrested late Saturday night in Oklahoma.

The 51-year-old Boettcher was taken into custody at about 10 p.m. by officers from the Pauls Valley Oklahoma Police Department. He is being held at the jail in Garvin County, Oklahoma.

Boettcher's car was also recovered by authorities in Oklahoma and is being held as evidence.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crime units are traveling to Oklahoma Sunday morning to continue the investigation.

The investigation began late Tuesday night when 50-year-old Matthew Nelson Timmons was found dead inside a home in the 17000 block of Southeast Oatfield Road, near Rex Putnam High School.

Timmons died of multiple stab wounds.

Boettcher lived with Timmons.

Awoman, Paula Rothery, was also initially wanted for questioning but deputies Wednesday night said they contacted and interviewed Rothery and she is a witness, not a suspect.
