WEST LINN, Ore. – A 30-year-old man threatened to his kill mother and assaulted her late Thursday afternoon in West Linn, according to police.

Tyler Edward Kern was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on charges of assault, strangulation, unlawful use of a weapon, and menacing.

Shortly before 5 p.m., officers were tipped off to suspicious activity at a West Linn home in the 6200 block of Preakness Way. When they arrived, they called the homeowner who said her son was armed with a handgun and she was not safe.
