SE Portland Manhunt

PORTLAND, Ore. – Two suspects were arrested during a search of a Southeast Portland neighborhood Tuesday night. Two suspects, one armed with a gun, were taken into custody and one officer was hospitalized.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Portland police tweeted the suspects ran away from officers in the area of Southeast 35th Avenue and Stark Street. Police said reports indicated the suspects were armed gang associates and originally in Laurelhurst Park before fleeing officers.

One officer was injured during a foot pursuit but his injuries did not appear to be serious, police said.

K-9 units searched the neighborhood for about an hour and police asked residents to remain inside in the area from Southeast Stark Street to Washington Street, and 35th Avenue to 37th Avenue. They called the search off shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Police did not immediately say what the suspects were wanted for.

Anyone with information about the search is asked to call Portland police.
