Son arrested in stabbing, killing of father in SE Portland

A 30-year-old man is wanted for allegedly killing his father in Southeast Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police on Thursday arrested a 30-year-old man who they say stabbed and killed his father on Dec. 2 in Southeast Portland.

Tyler Wayne Nees, 30, was arrested near Northwest 23rd Avenue and Lovejoy Street after police received an anonymous tip.

Nees had a realistic looking replica handgun on him, police said.

The stabbing occurred at the Marwood Plaza Apartments on Southeast 72nd Avenue and Woodstock Street. The victim, 64-year-old Brian Nees, ran for help after he was stabbed and officers found him nearby. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Tyler Nees was taken to the Multnomah County Jail. He faces charges of murder, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine and parole violation.
