Man arrested for attempted murder in Milwaukie shooting

MILWAUKIE, Ore. – Milwaukie police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot and wounded on Sunday.

Officers were called to a reported shooting in the 2400 block of Southeast Willard Street at around 8:30 p.m. when they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police spokesman Greg Elkins.

The victim survived his injuries. He told officers that the shooter got away before they arrived.

The victim and the suspect knew each other, Elkins said.

Police identified the suspect as Long Thanh Vo. Investigators learned Vo was arrested for an unrelated incident in Portland, less than 12 hours after the Milwaukie shooting.

Detectives arrested Vo as he was being released from the Multnomah County Jail. He faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangering and drug-related charges.
