SANDY – A teen girl in Sandy was severely injured and told officers she was assaulted by three men while she was riding her bicycle Saturday, police said.

Just after 11 p.m., police found the teen with cuts on her face and multiple broken bones, said Sam Craven with the Sandy Police Department.

The teen was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland where she is in the Intensive Care Unit. She has multiple fractures including a broken back.

The girl's family visited her in the hospital Sunday and was devastated by the attack.

“She’ll be in ICU for days. She’s such a small beautiful little girl. I just can’t imagine anyone committing that kind of violence,” her aunt told KGW. “She was found crumpled on the side of the road and her boyfriend carried her home and called for help.”

Her bicycle (pictured) was recovered Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Cascadia Village Drive and Southeast Bornstedt Road.

A witness told police she saw someone on a bike and heard a crash around the time of the reported attack, Craven said.

Police did not find a crime scene or suspects. Sandy police do not believe there is a danger to the public.
