NORTH BONNEVILLE, Wash. – Two men were shot at a North Bonneville apartment Wednesday night.
The men, identified as 57-year-old Robert E. Holmes III and 30-year-old Brian M. Miller, were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver. Holmes III was released from the hospital shortly after arriving. Miller was still hospitalized Thursday.
The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office first received calls at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday about a burglary in progress at an apartment complex on Yehuh Street. A second caller said someone was shot.
Deputies arrived at the apartment and found Holmes III with a gunshot wound to the face. Miller, who suffered three gunshot wounds, left the scene and went to the Washougal Police Department, where he was then taken to the hospital.
Deputies believe 25-year-old Robert E. Holmes IV, the son of Holmes III, fired shots during a fight at the apartment. Holmes IV was in custody at the Skamania County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment.
Holmes IV, his father and a woman who was not injured live at the apartment. Miller is from Camas.
The gun used in the shooting has been recovered.
An investigation is ongoing.
