The teenage daughter of former U.S. Olympian Tyson Gay was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning, according to Lexington, Kentucky police.
Trinity Gay was injured in a shootout between two vehicles in a restaurant parking lot around 4 a.m. Sunday, police said in a statement. She was transported to the University of Kentucky hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
USA Track and Field tweeted its condolences to Gay and his family, calling his daughter's death "senseless."

Lexington officers have detained two possible suspects involved in the shooting and are working to locate the other vehicle involved.
