Estacada murder suspect turns himself in

UPDATE: Richard Hess turned himself in at the Clackamas County jail Wednesday evening Sept. 14 about 10:30 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.

ESTACADA, Ore. – Clackamas County sheriff's deputies are searching for a murder suspect accused of killing a Portland man.

Richard Allen Hess, 47, is wanted for murder. Deputies say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Hess shot and killed 39-year-old Dominick James Perry, of Portland, on the morning of Sept. 10, deputies said.

Perry died at the hospital that night. 

Hess fled the scene, at 35100 SE Wilcox Rd., before deputies arrived. Investigators found Hess' truck abandoned in rural Clackamas County, east of Estacada.

Anyone who sees Hess should immediately call 911.
