PORTLAND - Sales of new homes last month was the best in three years. Portland-area home builders hope to keep that momentum going with the "Ultimate Open House” new home tour.
You have two weekends to tour 23 homes, from Forest Grove to Gresham and south to Wilsonville. It is the seventh year for the Ultimate Open House.
It's a chance in this very low inventory market for buyers to sample different style homes in different neighborhoods.
While this is a new home show, one home on Northeast Tillamook is an exception. It was moved just five feet in order to create two lots. The home has been completely restored, all the while keeping true to the homes past, but with all the modern conveniences we expect today.
“This year in particular, housing inventory is so low that many of the homes on the tour are brand new to the market, never been seen before, so you get to get out and see those homes before anyone else,” Hallie Gentry with the Home Builders Association said.
There's even an app the gives more information about the homes before you pay them a visit.
The show is free. It runs this weekend and next.
