PORTLAND - For 104 years, the Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association has been showing off all that's new in style and technology.
This year is no exception, as the show at the Oregon Convention Center is taking up the entire venue, including the ballrooms.
Thursday was opening day. Lots of people are looking for what drives their interest, whether for luxury, something more on the economical side, or something on the eco-friendly side.
This is the new car dealers' biggest show. Just about every automaker is on hand
With the average car on the road now around eleven years old, many at the show are using the show as a one-stop showroom.
"The auto show is a reflection of the industry and how the industry has really turned around," said Joe Rohatynski, spokesperson for the Portland Auto Show.
The industry is on the comeback trail. Last year sales reached a five year high, with 14.5 million cars and trucks sold. 2013 is even looking better.
"We're probably looking at near 15 million and maybe even top (that)," said Rohtynski
Helping to drive those sales, easier credit and lower interest rates. In some cases as low as 2 percent.
The Portland Auto Show runs January 24th-27th at the Oregon Convention Center, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m-7 p.m.
