PORTLAND -- Oregon winemakers and everyone involved with that industry in Portland are meeting at the Oregon Convention Center this week.
It's a yearly symposium to learn the latest in technology, farming techniques and what's on the horizon.
This is where you can literally find everything you need, except soil, to be apart of the wine industry. 170 companies from all over west coast are here to showcase their products and knowledge with winemakers.
But, the big buzz this year is the Oregon Wine Experience. It's an app for the iPad. It tells the story of the place, the people and Oregon wines.
The app was developed to sell Oregon wines not only here, but around the world.
"It puts our story in an interactive, portable mobile format that makes it incredibility easy for them to build the platform that they can tell the story of their own wineries on," said Charles Humble, Director of Communications for the Oregon Wine Board.
The app was developed locally by Portland based Storycode. The app is available now and can be downloaded for free from the iTunes app store.
