Some old favorites are back in the Top 10 Halloween costume list this year, with "witch" taking the top spot, according to the National Retail Federation.
Of the more than 76 million people surveyed, 81 percent said they already knew what their costumes would be. And almost 6 million said they would be using some variation of a which costume.
Vampire and "pirate" took second and third place, each with about 3 million votes.
Fourth place was perhaps the most topical pick, if not the most specific: 2.3 million people said they would be dressed as a character from the Batman franchise.
Rounding out the list were vixen, princess, ghost and nurse (tied for 8th), cat, and Superman.
Princess was the most popular costume for kids, according to the survey, and pumpkin was the most popular costume for pets.
