PORTLAND – A new website developed in Portland helps connect buyers with sellers through pictures.

The website, called househappy.org was designed to make the house hunting process more simple and seamless.

The site is driven by pictures. A seller or broker can post a property, along with 20 pictures, all for free. It has been described as a kind of Facebook for real estate.

A buyer can find out as much as they want about a particular home by using a broad range of search filters.

In turn, a seller can find out how many likes their property gets and they can also communicate directly with potential buyers.

House Happy was developed by Kevin McCloskey, who has been in the real estate business for more than 25 years.

“The whole point is to connect everybody. The brokers will have their listing on House Happy and the buyers will be searching the brokers’ listings as well as for sale by owner listings,” he said.

After only a week online, the new real estate website already has clients in all 50 states and 156 countries.

The site has also been optimized for smart phones.
