PORTLAND -- Financial problems continue to grow for McMinnville-based Evergreen International Airlines. According to a federal lawsuit, the aviation company owes $77,000 for hotel rooms at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown.
The lawsuit alleges Evergreen International Airlines had a running balance which carried over each month. But after March 2013, Evergreen failed to make any payments.
The owners of the Anchorage Marriott hope to collect for the unpaid balance. The hotel owner is also suing 20 Evergreen employees listed in the lawsuit as "Does 1-20" because those employees allegedly used fictitious names.
Earlier this month, the McMinnville News Register reported that Evergreen International Airlines planned to shut down its air cargo business at the end of November due to financial struggles.
