NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. chocolate company Hershey has been working with Italian chocolate maker Ferrero to craft a possible joint bid for Cadbury PLC, according to a published report.
The Wall Street Journal says executives from Hershey and Ferrero have been talking for several weeks, although it's still unclear if a bid would be made.
If the companies did move forward, it would be the first competing bid in Kraft Foods' effort to acquire the UK candy company.
Cadbury dismissed Kraft's $16.7 billion offer last week.
