NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are holding on to gains at midday on Wall Street.
The Dow Jones industrial average is up 19 points at 13,432. The Standard & Poor's 500 index is up six at 1,439. And the Nasdaq composite index is up 19 points at 3,113.
The S&P has had five straight declines.
There was mixed batch of economic data for investors to digest Thursday. Jobless claims fell to their lowest in two months, but second quarter economic growth came in lower than first thought.
