BEND, Ore. (AP) — The CEO for Consumer Cellular says the company has hired about 45 T-Mobile call center employees as it prepares to open its own call center in Redmond.
The Redmond T-Mobile USA Call Center closed in June at a cost to the city of about 360 jobs.
Portland-based Consumer Cellular on Monday will open its call center in the former T-Mobile USA Call Center location
CEO John Marick tells the Bend Bulletin (http://is.gd/gKgRVl) the company likely will continue adding employees. He says that starting in September, Consumer Cellular will host job fairs to bring on about 25 employees a month.
He says the goal is to employ 150 people by the end of the year.
Marick says the Redmond location will be Consumer Cellular's third call center.
