HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Police arrested a woman they suspect is connected to a fire that caused significant damage to a Hillsboro home on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect, 30-year-old Sara N. Brown, was a resident of the home. She is lodged in the Washington County Jail on one count of first-degree arson.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

The fire started at a home at 650 Southeast 20th Court in Hillsboro and then spread from the house to outside brush, endangering nearby structures and vehicles.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread any farther. The fire was stopped in 20 minutes, after which firefighters spent an hour putting out hot spots.

The damage estimated to the house is $130,000. There was extensive damage to the upper and lower floors of the west end of the home and smoke and heat damage to the main floor.
